Shaykh -e- Tariqah, Ameer of Ahl al-Sunnah, and Founder of Dawat-e-Islami, Allama Maulana Abu Bilal Muhammad Ilyas Attar Qadiri Razavi دَامَتْ بَرَکاتُہُمُ الْعَالِیَہْ was born on the 26th of Ramadan al-Mubarak 1369 Hijri, corresponding to Wednesday, 12th July 1950, shortly before Maghrib (sunset) in the area of Bombay Bazaar, Kharadar, in the renowned city of Bab al-Madinah (Karachi), Pakistan. The blessed name of His Eminence دَامَتْ بَرَکاتُہُمُ الْعَالِیَہْ is Muhammad, and his commonly known name is Ilyas. Due to being a disciple in the noble Qadiriyyah Sufi order linked to Sayyiduna Ghaus al-Azam عَلَیْہِ رَحْمَۃُ اللہِ الْاَکْرَم, he is known as Qadiri; due to his adherence to the refined research and his intense devotion and love for Imam Ahmad Raza Khan عَلَیْہِ رَحْمَۃُ الرَّحْمٰن, the Reviver of the Deen and Nation and Imam of Ahl al-Sunnah, who is also the spiritual grandfather (Dada Peer) of Ameer Ahl al-Sunnah دَامَتْ بَرَکاتُہُمُ الْعَالِیَہْ, he is referred to as Razavi; and due to being a disciple of the Caliph of Ala Hazrat, Qutb of Madinah, Hazrat Maulana Ziauddin Madani عَلَیْہِ رَحْمَۃُ اللہِ الْغَنِی, he is known as Zia’i. In terms of belief, His Eminence is a true and firm Sunni, and in jurisprudence (Fiqh), he follows Imam al-A'zam Abu Hanifa رَحْمَۃُ اللہِ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہ, among the four great Imams (Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Shafi'i, Imam Malik, Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal رَحِمَهُمُ اللہُ تَعَالٰی), and is thus Hanafi. His Kunyah (honorific title) is Abu Bilal, and his pen name (Takhallus) is Attar. Ameer of Ahl al-Sunnah دَامَتْ بَرَکاتُہُمُ الْعَالِیَہْ adopted the method of book reading and the company of scholars as his primary sources of acquiring knowledge. In this regard, he benefited the most from Mufti-e-Azam Pakistan, Allama Mufti Waqaruddin Qadiri Razavi رَحْمَۃُ اللہِ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہ and remained in his blessed company for a continuous 22 years. Eventually, in Rajab al-Murajjab 1404 Hijri, corresponding to April 1984, Mufti Waqaruddin Qadiri Razavi رَحْمَۃُ اللہِ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہ, in his own home in Samanabad, Gulberg Town, Bab al-Madinah (Karachi), honored Ameer of Ahl al-Sunnah دَامَتْ بَرَکاتُہُمُ الْعَالِیَہْ with Ijazah (authorization) and Khilafah (spiritual succession). It is widely believed that Ameer Ahl al-Sunnah دَامَتْ بَرَکاتُہُمُ الْعَالِیَہْ is the sole Khalifah (successor) of Mufti Waqaruddin عَلَیْہِ رَحْمَۃُ اللہِ الْمُبِیْن in the entire world. وَاللہُ تَعَالٰی اَعْلَمُ
